Making machinery
look sexy without the scantly clad woman is the
challenge. I pioneered the textured vanishing floor in
industrial photography. It's purpose is to direct
attention to the subject, while placing it in a situation
more comfortable to the viewer than the stark white
cutout.
We got involved in this long before digital capture was
practical. Most of these images were captured on 4x5
transparency film and drum scanned to about 250 Mb, more
pixels than most of the modern digital cameras provide.
We pioneered digital imaging by merging large format film
with drum scanning until digital capture was mature
enough to take over. I wish you could appreciate the
detail available in these images. The Web simply can't do
justice!
